Lorenda Belone, PhD, MPH (Dine/Navajo) is Assistant Professor, within the Health Education Program, UNM College of Education with a secondary appointment within the UNM Center for Participatory Research. She has been actively engaged over the past 14 years in CBPR research that have involved southwest Native American communities. Her most recent experience is as PI of the Mescalero Apache Family Listening Program, an National Institutes for Health funded research project adapting an intergenerational family prevention program which integrates an empirically-tested evidence-supported intervention with culturally supported interventions in Mescalero Apache. Dr. Belone is Senior Fellow with the UNM Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center and the New Mexico Center for the Advancement of Research, Engagement, & Science on Health Disparities.
